We have also progressed the detailed design for the retail elements of the scheme, which comprise:

New shops

The expansion northwards will include around 60,000 sq m of new shops in different sizes suitable for both high-quality independent retailers and well-known brands.

A new, flagship department store

The retail extension to Westfield London will include a flagship 21,000 sq m John Lewis department store. This will be situated adjacent to the Hammersmith and City Line viaduct at the new town centre gateway and in the heart of the Opportunity Area regeneration zone.

The new, four level department store will now have two entrances: one as you approach the site from the White City and Wood Lane Underground stations and one from the shopping centre.


Westfield London has an unrivalled retail offer that has helped to put Shepherd’s Bush on the map as a shopping destination. This will be further enhanced by Westfield’s latest expansion plans. We are in ongoing discussions with retailers regarding Westfield London’s current and future offer and these discussions are helping to shape the reconfigured plans.
